Advanced Spam Protection - 1 Billion Filtered
Posted by admin on 2008-02-07 17:13:33

A milestone no one really wanted to see hit, but a morbid curiosity none-the-less. Over 1 billion spam messages filtered since March 5th, 2004. That's an average of 8.3 spam emails every second of every day for the last 4 years.

To put the spam problem into perspective in April of 2004, (the first full month that we gathered statistics from) the spam filters handled 12,929,288 messages in 30 days.

By comparison, the spam filters in the first 7 days of this month have dealt with 9.2 million, and currently average about 60 million a month.

Worst day ever so far? December 29th, 2007 when 7,668,991 spam emails were stopped in a single day.
