Planned Qwest DSL Disruption - Friday Oct 26

Update: Circuit move completed successfully.

Update: The circuit move is currently in progress and going very smoothly. There was one unexpected problem during the first hour that was quickly corrected.

Qwest has confirmed that the circuit move delayed from last week will occur Friday, October 26th between 8am and 5pm. This circuit move will cause an interruption in Qwest DSL service. This maintenance will not affect regular Dial-up service or Verizon DSL lines. Only Qwest DSL lines will be affected. The disruption to any single Qwest DSL line should last for no longer than 30 minutes sometime during the maintenance window.

Please make sure your internet connection is not performing any critical updates, transfers or backups during the maintenance window. Qwest is moving the circuits according to their own criteria so we cannot predict when any individual DSL line will be moved.

Qwest will begin moving circuits at 8am and the process will take the bulk of the day. Each circuit will be moved automatically at the rate of about half-a-dozen per minute. When a circuit is moved the connection will drop offline. Your DSL modem should automatically reconnect when Qwest finishes moving the line.

If your connection is not reestablished within 30 minutes, you may need to powercycle your DSL modem to reestablish your connection.

  1. Unplug the power from your DSL modem.
  2. Leave the modem unplugged and powered off for 20 seconds.
  3. Plug the power back in and wait 2 minutes.

This process should reconnect the DSL modem. If however the connection has not been restored within 30 minutes of disconnect and the powercycle does not restore your connection, please call our office at (888) 662-5274.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused during this change, but feel that the resulting reliability of the systems will greatly benefit all of our customers.

Thank you for your continued support.
