An updated version of the CCC has been released at www.avvantamail.com. This release includes an all new Advanced Spam Protection system that is based on a scoring system instead of fixed rules. This makes false matches much more infrequent, and increases the amount of blocked spam.The new Advanced Spam Protection is based on SpamAssassin and is very effective at identifying and blocking spam. Advanced Spam Protection/SpamAssassin runs each incoming through a series of tests. Each of these tests has a "weight". After each test is run, the weights are added together to give the message a spam score. If the total score is greater than a configurable threshold, then the message is considered to be spam and will be placed in your AvvantaMail Trash folder and stored there for one week so any false matches can be retrieved. All addresses in your AvvantaMail address book are automatically "whitelisted" to make sure they are not identified as spam incorrectly. |
