On Friday, December 31st, 2004, starting at 12:00 Noon, we will be upgrading our network. This upgrade will take approximately two hours to complete. During this time all email services will be unavailable and there will be brief interruptions in all web services. Mail that arrives during the upgrades will be stored and delivered when the upgrades have been completed.
Update 2:12pm: Maintenance completed and all services are up and functioning normally. Have a Happy New Year!
These new servers upgrade Avvanta's network to a cluster system that is faster, has built in redundancy, and is more robust. These new systems will result in appreciably more reliable mail and web services.
Mail System Upgrades Avvanta's email systems will be updated to add new features. Included in these upgrades will be:
- Updated Avvanta Antivirus
- Enhanced spam checking
- Secure SMTP services (SSL)
The Communications Control Center is also being updated to version 5.0. New features include:
- Rich text email messages
- Message preview before sending
- Emoticons
- The ability to embed images in your email
In addition, there have been numerous optimizations in speed, and an enhanced message listing and display. |
