Physically connect the Grandstream 386 to your local area network using the instructions included with the device.Connect an analog phone to the PHONE1 port of the ATA, lift the receiver, and press the * (asterisk or star) key three times. You should hear the ATA prompt you to enter a menu option. Enter zero two (02) and the ATA will tell you the IP address the adapter received from the local network.
|
Note that when announcing the IP address the Grandstream will "pad" leading zeros to any single or two-digit number to make them 3 digits long. For example, it might read the IP address as 192.168.001.005. The padding makes the IP invalid, and should be converted to the proper format - in this example the correct IP would be 192.168.1.5
Once you have the IP address, open your web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc) and in the address bar enter the IP address and press enter. (To continue the previous example the address would be http://192.168.1.5/ )
